The Tacoma Regional Convention + Visitors Bureau offers many exciting opportunities for Tacoma Pierce County residents to volunteer their time to extend their hospitality to visitors and convention delegates. We would like to invite you to participate by becoming a Tacoma + Pierce County Ambassador.
| Where do volunteer activities take place? | Depending on the needs of the event, TRCVB volunteers many be asked to be at the Visitor Information Center, area hotels, the Tacoma Dome or at the Tacoma Convention Center. Mailings and special projects are often done at the TRCVB corporate offices at 1119 Pacific Ave., Suite 500, Tacoma, WA 98402.
| What type of events and activities need volunteers? | TRCVB volunteers provide support for events that the TRCVB has booked. Occasionally other groups, which sponsor events either in conjunction with TRCVB efforts or that complement TRCVB events, need volunteers. In these instances, TRCVB volunteer names may be shared with another group or a group's information will be distributed to the TRCVB volunteers [usually via the monthly newsletter].
| What is the attire for TRCVB volunteers? | Volunteers will be given a green "Volunteer" vest to wear. While volunteering at events, TRCVB volunteers are asked to wear a white shirt/blouse/sweater [no logos] with blackslacks or skirt. Clean, comfortable athletic shoes are acceptable. Nametags will be provided when you report to volunteer.
| What about Parking? | Generally, for most of the events when volunteers are needed, parking fees are reimbursed.
| How do volunteers find out about upcoming opportunities? | Monthly newsletters are sent to all volunteers. Additional e-mails with volunteer opportunities are sent out as needed.
| Interested? | Please contact Tami Music, Convention + Visitor Services Manager at [253] 284-3275 or e-mail to learn more about volunteer opportunities, schedule a time to tour the VIC and meet the staff and other volunteers.
